Kwanlin Dün First Nation purchases Sky High Wilderness Ranch

This morning, Kwanlin Dün First Nation held a press conference to announce the purchase of Sky High Wilderness Ranch.

Kwanlin Dün First Nation (KDFN) has purchased Sky High Wilderness Ranch. The purchase includes the tourism business, the 60 titled acres of land it is on, a large trapline and a grazing lease. KDFN is excited to work with the staff at Sky High Wilderness Ranch to continue to offer quality tourism experiences in the Yukon. KDFN also plans to expand tourism packages to include cultural experiences.

Located in the Łu Zil Män (Fish Lake) area, Sky High Wilderness Ranch is in the heart of KDFN Traditional Territory. This area is of great historical significance to Kwanlin Dün people. This purchase is monumental for KDFN and represents a return to Łu Zil Män kwaché in a strong, meaningful way.

A large celebration is being planned for the Kwanlin Dün community to mark this occasion. The celebration is expected to take place in the spring of 2024.
