Congratulations on a successful hunt! Providing traditional foods for your friends and family is something to be proud of.

Please remember to dispose of animal remains in an ethical and respectful manner by taking them to the Whitehorse Landfill. Why? Because carcasses can draw  bears and other predators to the area. They can also pose a health risk to humans and pets.

The Whitehorse Landfill is open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and on weekends 9 a.m.– 5 p.m.

Dumping carcasses or waste meat in the Yukon is illegal and may result in fines or a hunting licence suspension.

Please take the time to make a report if you see animal parts that have not been disposed of properly by contacting:

– KDFN Land Steward Officer (867) 334-8990 or email bruce.wilson@kdfn.net
– KDFN Heritage, Lands & Resources Department (867) 633-7800 ext. 128
– TIPPS Line 1-800-661-0525
– Whitehorse Bylaw Services (867) 667-2111
