Kwanlin Dün Lands Plan
A Kwanlin Dün First Nation Lands Plan will help KDFN process Historical Submissions.
To move forward and make land available, KDFN needs more:
- land-use plans;
- policies and programs to lower development and building costs;
decisions on KDFN-only areas; and - tools to manage Historical Submissions and new land applications.
The plan will guide how residential land is developed. It will balance developing land and caring for heritage, culture and traditional sites, as well as land for future generations.
KDFN held three Lands Plan Open Houses at Nàkwät’à Kù Potlatch House on June 13, 14 and 15. Another series of open houses will be held on August 29 and 30th at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre.
Lands Plan Survey
A Lands Plan Survey was created to gather more feedback from all KDFN Beneficiaries and Citizens on which lands should be used for homes and how they should be developed.
A postcard with a QR code for the survey was mailed to all KDFN households. Print copies of the survey are available at the Kashgêk’ building (35 McIntyre Drive).
The input received is anonymous. All feedback will be reviewed by the team and presented to the community for feedback.

Land Development Process
KDFN needs to look at land use plans and wildlife data when processing Historical Submissions. Some Historical Submissions may have to be moved to protect wildlife. Others might move into a planned development to ease costs.
